Years in the making: What it means to be awarded NCQA accreditation, again

I’m honored to share Seniorlink’s Caregiver Homes Network has received Case Management Accreditation with LTSS Distinction for the second time by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

Caregiver Homes achieved a 3-year accreditation, which is the highest level of achievement awarded by NCQA. The same required standards are evaluated by NCQA for all organizations seeking to be accredited for Case Management and LTSS Distinction, creating an apples-to-apples comparison of organizations across the country.

This accreditation is three years in the making and reflects the countless hours our team has spent providing the highest quality of care to the families we serve. To be accredited through NCQA is a validation of Seniorlink’s commitment to quality, and we are humbled to be recognized for our work particularly during the COVID-19 public health crisis that has swept the country.

NCQA is the gold standard for health care quality assessment. The committee provides a road map for organizations to achieve and provide quality care. Accreditation is based on NCQA’s assessment of an organization’s compliance with the required standards and elements, and accreditation status is based on the overall score achieved.

When I personally reflect on this achievement a Pele quote comes to mind, “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing.” To say I am proud of this achievement is an understatement.

Achieving such an accreditation is no accident, it is a testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication to providing quality care and is truly a company-wide effort. From Care Team members and Coaches working with the families we serve, to Clinical Directors overseeing clinical quality across state partnerships, to office assistants and our People and Culture team members who maintain records, to our technologies team for developing and implementing SAMI to provide efficient documentation and for VELA for providing a HIPPA secure care collaboration platform, to OSS for pulling records, every single person has helped us prepare in some way for this re-accreditation process.

We are thrilled to celebrate this accreditation, but our work is not yet finished. Our goal is to serve 1 million families. Continuing to dedicate ourselves to the quality of our care across our network, will assure we meet our goal and possibly beyond.
